Rendering of Proposed Pontiac Fiero Designs by Ben Salvador, 1981

01

Artifact Overview

The mid-engine Pontiac Fiero debuted for 1984. Initially conceived as a spirited sports car powered by a V-6, Fiero was reworked into a fuel-efficient, two-seat commuter car with a smaller four-cylinder engine. Disappointing sales ended Fiero production after the 1988 model year. GM designer Ben Salvador penned this early concept drawing.
