William B. Shenk graduated from the Art Center School in Los Angeles in 1962 and joined Ford Motor Company's design studio. Shenk's credits at Ford included exterior design for the 1970 and 1971 Ford Torino, the aero styling update to the 1987 Ford Mustang, and exterior design for the 1987 Mercury Cougar XR-7.
