This organizational chart illustrated the hierarchy at Ford Motor Company's Styling Department in late 1953. Charles Waterhouse directed the automaker's overall design efforts from 1949-1953. Franklin Hershey managed the Ford studio from 1952-1955, and Eugene Bordinat directed the Lincoln-Mercury studio from 1954-1961. The chart is from the papers of designer John Najjar, who spent more than 40 years at Ford Motor Company.
