Studebaker Lark, Ford Thunderbird, and Lincoln Continental, circa 1960
01
Artifact Overview
Both the Ford Thunderbird and Lincoln Continental were completely redesigned for the 1961 model year. Thunderbirds were longer, wider and lower than in the previous year, with an angular front-end treatment. Continentals had clean lines and little chrome compared with 1960 models. In fact, the 1961 Continental had its origins in a rejected design proposal for the 1961 Thunderbird.
