Hanukkah celebrates the 164 B.C.E. victory of a small rebel army, the Maccabees, over the Jews' Syrian-Greek oppressors and the miracle of a small amount of oil lasting for eight days as it burned in the defiled temple's lampstand. This craft kit lets children design a dreidel, a four-sided top with Hebrew letters. Spinning the dreidel is a traditional Hanukkah children's game.

All arts and crafts should be done under adult supervision. / DIRECTIONS: / Paint the first two sides and allow to dry (approx. 20 minutes). / If paint is too thick, add 1-2 drops of water and mix thoroughly before painting. / Wash brush completely with water when changing paint colors. / Turn dreidel and paint two remaining sides. Allow to dry. / Use your imagination to decorate the dreidel using the glitter glue and pipe cleaners. / When painting is finished, wash brush well. Do not let paint dry on brush. / NOTE: If paint spills on clothes wash imeddiately.
