Japan's Takuma Sato won the 2020 Indianapolis 500. It was Sato's second Indy 500 victory, following his win in 2017. The 2020 event was among the most unusual in Indy history. The COVID-19 pandemic forced officials to postpone the race from May 24 until August 23, and to run it without fans in attendance.
