In July 2020, former President Donald Trump spoke at the National Association of Police Organizations, where he mentioned the ongoing Black Lives Matter protests. Trump claimed protesters were using cans of soup as weapons, throwing them at police. Allegedly, when questioned, protesters would claim "this is soup for my family." This quote was parodied across various social media platforms.
