Fred L. Black was business manager for Henry Ford's Dearborn Publishing Company before becoming head of Ford Motor Company's advertising department in 1927. He was active in Mr. Ford's Edison Institute, serving as liaison between Ford and museum architect Robert Derrick. Black, a pilot and aviation enthusiast, coordinated relocation of Wright Cycle Shop and the Wright Home to Greenfield Village.
