Artifact Overview

Germany's Porsche has roots in a company formed by Ferdinand Porsche, Aldolf Rosenberger and Anton Piech in 1931. Initially a consulting firm, Porsche built its first cars in 1948, and racing efforts began soon after that. Rear- and mid-engine Porsche cars found success in many competition series, and the company embraced motorsport as core to its engineering and development processes.
