Ford Motor Company executives Lee Iacocca (left) and Donald Frey posed with a 1965 Ford Mustang for this promotional photo. Ford launched the sporty Mustang at the New York World's Fair on April 17, 1964. Within one year of the model's debut, Ford built 417,000 Mustangs for eager buyers -- a milestone commemorated on the "417 by 4-17" license plate.
