The massive size of the equipment used at Ford's Rouge complex was illustrated by this photo of a Model A sedan parked under one of the factory's steel presses. By the late 1930s, more than 4,000 presses were in daily use at the Rouge. Some weighed up to 450 tons and applied pressures of 800 tons.
