Handbook of Instructions for Fairchild Model F-8 Aerial Camera, 1931

01

Artifact Overview

Sherman Fairchild worked to advance aerial photographic technology during World War I. After the war, he produced cameras for aerial survey work and founded an influential commercial aerial survey company. Fairchild's aerial cameras -- like the F-8, used by military and civilian photographers alike -- featured high-speed shutters developed for use on increasingly high-speed aircraft.
