Walgreen Saucer, 1948
01
Artifact Overview
Many Walgreens drugstores in the mid-20th century operated in-store lunch counters and cafeterias to lure more people into their stores. Customers could stop in for a quick cup of coffee and a bite to eat while out shopping during the day. Employees served food on durable, vitreous china plates, like this one, marked with the "Walgreen" name.
