Turner & Wescott Milk Bottle Opener, 1932-1958
01
Artifact Overview
Dairies have supplied fresh milk products to consumers in glass bottles since the late 1800s. Dairies sealed the bottles with glass, metal, or cardboard caps for spill-free deliveries. Turner & Wescott, a Pennsylvania dairy operating into the late 1900s, shipped its products in wide-mouthed bottles with a metal cap. Customers needed an opener like this to pry off the cap.
