Henry Ford and production manager Charles Sorensen welcomed Sir Harry Lauder and his bagpipers to Ford Motor Company's Highland Park plant in 1914. At the time, the Scottish singer and comedian was among the most popular entertainers in the world. Lauder's hits included songs like "Roamin' in the Gloamin'" and "I Love a Lassie."
