"Detroit Loves a Good Party" Political Button, 1980

Detroit, Michigan's Civic Host Committee adopted the slogan "Detroit Loves a Good Party" in 1980. It coincided with the Republican National Convention held in the city in July. (This was the first time Detroit had hosted a national political convention to elect a president.) Thousands of buttons with the slogan were distributed or sold that year.
