Joe and Carol Wright volunteered to sell souvenirs at Detroit Lions football games to raise money for charity in the late 1970s and early 1980s. At that time, the Lions played their home games at the Pontiac (Michigan) Silverdome. As concessionaires for the 1981 season, Joe and Carol also got to work at Super Bowl XVI, played at the Silverdome.
