In the episode, Peter Falk reads "Robbery at the Diamond Dog Diner," and host Levar Burton works in a diner. Reading Rainbow was a long-running Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) series developed to address the problem of children losing their reading comprehension skills over summer break.
