"I Don't Want to Strike But I Will! In Solidarity We Stand" Unconstructed Button, 2023

01

Artifact Overview

In fall 2023, United Auto Workers staged successful strikes against Ford, General Motors and Stellantis -- the union's first simultaneous actions against the Detroit Three. Workers struck for better pay and protection from job losses in the shift to electric vehicles. Buttons like this were worn by members of UAW Local 600, representing workers at Ford plants in and around Dearborn, Michigan.
