on label on side of bottle:
S / IV / A few years back I became / obsessed with creating a new / version of Marker's Mark with / simplified notes of vanilla, caramel / and spice while offering a longer / finish without the bitterness my / Dad was so opposed to. After a / lengthy process of trial and error, / I landed on the idea of finishing / fully-matured Maker's Mark in the / barrel for a little bit longer with / specially chosen French Oak staves. / And we had a winner. If I have a / legacy, I guess this is it. I hope you / enjoy it as much as I do. / BILL SAMUELS JR. / SON OF THE FOUNDERS, BILL & MARGIE
