Greenfield Village hosted its first annual Old Car Festival on September 8, 1951, when 88 vintage automobiles gathered for a three-hour show. That inaugural event included familiar elements like drivers and passengers in period clothing, a pass-in-review program, and high-wheel bicycles mixed in with the cars. Today, Old Car Festival remains the longest-running antique auto show in the United States.
