Suwanee Park, a re-creation of a circa 1900 amusement park, opened in Greenfield Village in 1974. For a time, visitors could pay a ten-cent fare to ride a raft to the island at the center of Suwanee Lagoon. Once there, they could watch birds and wildlife, enjoy a picnic, or simply take in the scenic views.
