E. (Emma) Lucile Webster (1902-1993) taught in one-room schoolhouses for most of her teaching career. In 1932, Henry Ford hired her to teach at the Edison Institure Schools in the one-room Scotch Settlement School, where Webster spent most of the next 47 years. She retired in 1969, the year the Institute's schools closed. Webster stands with the last sixth grade class in this photograph.
