Ford Motor Company operated sales and service branches, as well as assembly plants, in cities around the world. These facilities allowed the company to better serve its global customers. Ford initially planned for a Dutch factory in Rotterdam, but the available site was landlocked. Instead, the company built a waterfront factory in Amsterdam, Holland, the Netherlands, in 1931.
