Artifact Overview

Veterinarians used a mortar and pestle to crush, grind, and blend medicines into a powder or paste. Creating powdered medicine from solid tablets and dissolving it in liquids helped veterinarians administer medicine easily and safely so it acted quickly. This mortar and pestle belonged to M. C.
