Automotive Golden Jubilee Commemorative License Plate, 1946

01

Artifact Overview

In 1896, Charles Brady King drove the first gasoline-powered vehicle down the streets of Detroit. Fifty years later, Detroit celebrated with the Automotive Golden Jubilee. Parades, pageants, automotive displays, and a general air of celebration marked the event, which ran from May 29th to June 9th. This license plate was made for the commemoration of that historic drive.
