Hand balancing acrobats performed feats of strength and skill with their feet in the air and hands on the ground. During the late 19th and early 20th century, these acts provided entertainment at circuses, carnivals, vaudeville and other traveling shows. This unidentified performer climbed a spiral ladder as part of his routine.
