Posset Pot, 1650-1725

Posset pots were drinking vessels that held a nourishing beverage that was popular into the early 19th century. Posset was a hot drink made with eggs, sugar, spices, and milk mixed with wine or ale that curdles it. The ingredients created a layered concoction. A person would drink the liquid from the lower layers through the pot's straw-like spout.
