Toy musical instruments, such as drums and pianos, have been mass-produced for children since the late 1800s. During the 1900s, child-oriented music boxes, phonographs, and other mechanical music devices became popular. This toy saxophone produces music by turning a crank, using one of five perforated paper music rolls included with the toy.
