In honor of National Engineers Week at The Henry Ford, get expert answers to your questions about autonomous vehicles.
- Exquisite Conversation Cards, 1830-1850 - Conversation cards, usually made for adult partygoers, consist of question and answer cards. Couples choose cards; one reads a random question card, the other a random answer card. The answer, when read, could start conversations or produce laughter at the nonsensical response. This set was made by Fisher and Brother in the mid-1800s.

- 1916 Ford Model T with Camper Conversion, 1921 - H.D. McCracken, a self-proclaimed "creative Texan," built this wooden contraption and mounted it to a Model T chassis. He and his wife took this converted camper across the country, going wherever they pleased and stopping wherever they wished. The McCrackens were two of many Americans who answered the call of the open road following World War I.

He and his wife took this converted camper across the country, going wherever they pleased and stopping wherever they wished. The McCrackens were two of many Americans who answered the call of the open road following World War I.

In 1920, a Model T chassis -- engine, frame and running gear -- could be purchased for $525, while a more rugged Model TT truck chassis was available for $660. This one was converted into a motorhome, complete with a pergola on the rear.

- Engineering Release Notes, Defroster Conversion Kit, Ford Automobile, 1938-1947 - The Ford Motor Company created over a million parts drawings from 1903 to 1957. Many of these drawings specify engineering requirements for the components of Ford-made vehicles--including automobiles, trucks, tractors, military vehicles, and Tri-motor airplanes. Others provided information about assembly components, stages of casting and forging, or experimental designs. Beginning in the 1940s, Ford transferred the drawings and associated documents to microfilm.
