- "Covered Bridge, West Brattleboro, Vt., in the Green Mountains," July 1952 - Covered bridges were built across the United States throughout the 19th and into the early 20th centuries. Bridges provided important commercial and community connections, but constructing them required careful planning and a substantial investment of time, labor, and materials. Walls and a roof helped preserve these valuable structures by protecting the truss system and keeping structural timbers dry.

- "Gorilla" on Ackley Covered Bridge during Halloween in Greenfield Village, October 1982 - Visitors have celebrated Hallowe'en in Greenfield Village since 1981. The family-friendly program has evolved over the years, and guests continue to return each October, ready to see hundreds of candle-lit pumpkins or their favorite fairytale or storybook characters. During the program's early years, guests followed a path to trick-or-treating stops and spooky Hallowe'en vignettes. This "gorilla" lurked in the Ackley Covered Bridge.

- Covered Dish, 1890-1900 - Nineteenth-century American glassmakers experimented with new methods to create products for a growing consumer market. In the 1820s, pressing glass into metal molds by machine was perfected, and by the mid-1800s, manufacturers were creating a variety of inexpensive pressed glass housewares. America's middle-class consumers could now decorate their homes with attractive glass bowls, creamers, dishes, plates, vases, and other tableware.
