Summary

Ernest R. Breech was running automotive-supplier Bendix Corporation when Henry Ford II brought him to Ford Motor Company in 1946. Breech served as a mentor to Ford, who had become president of his family's company at age 28. Together, Ford and Breech rebuilt the Ford organization into a modern, publicly traded corporation. Breech resigned from his daily role at Ford in 1960.
