Front Side View of 1955 Ford Thunderbird Prototype

Summary

Ford introduced its Thunderbird for 1955 in response to Chevrolet's Corvette. While Corvette was a true sports car with few creature comforts, Thunderbird was a "personal car" combining sporty looks with luxury options. This prototype featured side trim similar to Ford's Fairlane-series cars. The trim was not used on production Thunderbirds.
