Ford Motor Company Employees, Piquette Avenue Plant, Detroit, Michigan, 1906

Summary

In 1906, Ford Motor Company employees posed outside the Piquette Avenue Plant in Detroit, Michigan. Ford had moved here in 1904 after outgrowing its factory on Mack Avenue. Increasing demand for Ford's affordable cars -- the successful Model N and the first Model Ts were built at Piquette -- eventually made this plant inadequate. In 1910, Ford moved its operations to Highland Park.
