DRIVE4COPD -- a public awareness campaign for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease -- became NASCAR's official health initiative in 2010. The partnership included public service announcements, COPD health screenings at NASCAR events, and a specially branded DRIVE4COPD 300 race in NASCAR's Nationwide Series. NASCAR driver Danica Patrick, whose grandmother had suffered from the disease, became a celebrity spokesperson for the COPD Foundation in 2012.
