This pin depicts the Glidden Tour trophy. In 1905, Charles J. Glidden donated a trophy for the automobile touring event first organized by the Automobile Association of America (AAA) a year earlier. The event focused attention on American automobiles and roads. Winners were judged on vehicle endurance and reliability. The last Glidden Tour event was held in 1913.
