Before coming to the Henry Ford Museum, Streetcar 26 - a "Birney Safety Car" - operated on the Fort Collins Municipal Railway. Birneys were light, required only one operator, and featured built-in safety precautions. They worked well as a form of transit in the small Colorado city.
