Fred Allison in Ford Experimental Electric Automobile, circa 1914

Henry Ford and Thomas Edison collaborated on two experimental electric automobiles using Edison's nickel-iron batteries. The second car, seen here, was finished in June 1914. It used a standard Model T frame, with batteries placed under the seat and in front of the dashboard. After some talk of forming a new company to build electric cars, the project was canceled.
