Edsel Ford (right) attended the private Detroit University School from fifth through twelfth grades. In his last years there, he was a sprinter on the school's track team. In 1912, the impressive DUS team earned chances to compete in interscholastic meets, and Edsel finished third in the 300-yard dash at one of these competitions.
