Man Standing beside a Ford V-8 DeLuxe Tudor Car Parked on a Commercial Street, Dearborn, Michigan, January 1938

01

Artifact Overview

Ford Motor Company's Standard and DeLuxe models each wore different faces for 1938. Standard-series cars largely retained the look of Ford's 1937 models, while DeLuxe cars -- like those seen here -- received new curved grilles and a separate set of hood louvers. The 1938 Ford DeLuxe Tudor sedan started at $725. Total Ford production for the calendar year was 410,048 cars.
