It seemed like everyone in the United States got caught up in the excitement of the new Ford Model A, introduced to great fanfare on December 2, 1927. Movie star Douglas Fairbanks ordered a Model A sport coupe for his wife and fellow celebrity Mary Pickford. The couple took delivery of the new car on Christmas Eve.
