Lincoln Motor Company president Henry Leland and treasurer William T. Nash were photographed on February 4, 1922, when Ford Motor Company purchased Lincoln. Leland and his son, Wilfred, formed Lincoln in 1917, but their company struggled in the post-World War I recession. Forced into receivership, the Lelands sold Lincoln to Ford for $8 million.
