Supporting a strong company culture was important to the H.J. Heinz Company. In addition to outstanding employee amenities, the company held an annual picnic once per summer where anywhere from 3000 to 4000 employees and their families were transported by paddle-wheel steamboat or train to a nearby park for a day of fun and celebration.
