Harry Brooks (left) and Harry Russell posed with a Ford Tri-Motor for this photo in 1927. Brooks was close to Henry Ford, who considered Brooks his favorite test pilot. Mr. Ford was deeply saddened when Brooks died in the crash of a prototype Ford airplane in 1928. Russell, in addition to his skills as a mechanic, was an accomplished pilot himself.
