Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Standard Oil collaborated to promote their products by giving away this photograph of film actor Spencer Tracy. MGM encouraged the fan who received this photograph to see Tracy's thrilling new film Northwest Passage when it came to town. Standard Oil Dealers then urged that same fan to use Red Crown gasoline "to give your car a thrill."
