Like other American automakers, Ford Motor Company suspended civilian production during World War II. Ford instead manufactured jeeps, bombers, gliders, and other military equipment for Allied forces. This photo -- which includes an ethnic slur -- shows Ford workers celebrating their new role in building GPW Jeeps as the last V-8 automobile rolls off the assembly line in February 1942.
