Agricultural scientist George Washington Carver made his first visit to Dearborn in 1937, to meet Henry Ford and speak at a conference. He also toured Greenfield Village. In this photo, Carver's assistant Austin Curtis, Jr., Carver, and Ford public relations officer William Simonds watch as Edison associate Francis Jehl presents the reconstructed spaces of Edison's Menlo Park Laboratory in Greenfield Village.
