Artifact Overview
C. Harold Wills joined Ford Motor Company as its first chief designer in 1903 after working with Henry Ford since 1899. Wills made vital engineering contributions to the Model T and, as an occasional printer, he designed the "Ford" script logo. Wills headed his own automobile company, Wills Sainte Claire, from 1921 to 1927 and later consulted for Chrysler.
