Artifact Overview

On October 21, 1929, Henry Ford hosted an event, Light's Golden Jubilee, which celebrated the 50th anniversary of Thomas Edison's invention of a practical incandescent lamp. After a morning reception, guests could view the historical buildings Ford had gathered for Greenfield Village, his outdoor museum. The day was a rainy mess, but this did not dampen his guests' enthusiasm as they went from building to building.
