World War II Driver-W Badge, 1942-1945

Beginning in July 1942, Driver and Mechanic badges were given to soldiers who passed a qualification test. The "Driver - W" on the attached bar signifies the driver could operate a wheeled vehicle. Other driver qualifications could be secured for tracked vehicles, amphibious vehicles, and motorcycles.
